Cost of Productivity

Proverbs 14:4 NIV
Without oxen a stable stays clean,
but you need a strong ox for a large harvest.

Who doesn't like a stable that stays clean all the time? But to produce crops, farmers need help of oxen (bulls, cows or carabaos) to tilt the land. Well, we do have motorized tractor now but the same truth remains that acquiring tools for work requires sizeable amount of effort - like cleaning the stable, maintaining the machines in good conditions with routine checkups, or learning how to use a mac/pc to increase productivity. Having an electric oven requires money to purchase and install but without it, I won't be able to learn how to bake muffins.

Stretching the application of this verse to relationships, living disconnected from people will remove many problems in your life. However, your life will be dull and meaningless because you don't create value to  other people's life if you live alone in an island.
