Preparation

Proverbs 30:24-25 NIV
“Four things on earth are small, yet they are extremely wise: [25] Ants are creatures of little strength, yet they store up their food in the summer;

God teaches us preparation by observing the ants. The ants are busy looking for food in summer when there is plenty and the weather is fine. Exerting the same effort of gathering foods in summer will yield more versus gathering on the rainy season. Like ants, we should grab the opportunity when it's there because opportunity is not always around. We should work when it's time to work, and we should spend less than we earn to prepare for any incoming storm of life. Some life events are already known - like all of us will get old when we could no longer work but still we continue to eat. So if we retire at 60 or 65, we should have saved enough money to feed us until we reach 100 years old! So let's invest enough for our retirement!  However some events are unforeseen, like this COVID19 pandemic for instance, so to minimize risks let us give our best for the opportunity God provided us today and follow the 70-20-10 principle - spend only 70% of your income, invest 20%, and give 10% tithes as your insurance.
